The Pakistani military on Monday said another 18 Taliban had been killed in a third day of fighting in South Waziristan where the army is waging a campaign to defeat militants operating from havens in the lawless border region.

Officials said two Pakistani soldiers had also died since the weekend. On Sunday, the military said 60 militants had died in the fighting.
