Big hand for Adam Smith memorial

GettyAdam Smith, the “father of economics”, has at last been prominently honoured in his homeland with a statue on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile.

The bronze figure was unveiled on Friday outside St Giles’ Cathedral by Vernon Smith, the American Nobel Prize-winning economist and Smith enthusiast.
