Aid pledges provide little comfort for Zimbabwe PM

Morgan Tsvangirai, Zimbabwe’s power sharing prime minister, returns home this week from a three-week tour of western capitals having raised an estimated US$150m in fresh aid.

Expectations of the visit were low in Harare the amount raised is therefore seen by some as a minor triumph, although the precise figure is unclear because of the habit of donors to double-count their assistance.
