Whitbread gets coffee high from Costa

Shares in Whitbread rose more than 18 per cent on Monday after the hotel and restaurant group said a marketing campaign targeted at coffee lovers would push full-year profits towards the higher end of expectations.

The group announced strong growth at Costa Coffee and said it had also stemmed the rate of sales decline at Premier Inn.
