Labour dash to capitalise on Tory slip-up

Labour on Wednesday night seized on the premature publication of the Conservative party’s report on tax reform to hammer home the argument that the Tories are firmly committed to £21bn of tax cuts.

The Conservatives had been due to unveil the findings of their tax commission at a press conference in London this morning. But the carefully laid plans went badly awry on Wednesday night after an official at Conservative Central Office accidentally posted the 200-page document – Tax Matters – on the party’s website.
