From Mr Fritz Fischer.
Sir, Martin Wolf's article "We should all care about who heads the World Bank" (January 26) stands out as it describes the "problematique" of three important international positions to be filled (World Trade Organisation, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and World Bank), and he rightly focuses on the World Bank as the most important organisation. However, his valid observations on the right personnel choice are too narrow, as they are based on the status quo of the Bretton Woods Institutions.
