AMD suffers ninth quarterly loss in succession

Advanced Micro Devices, the second largest PC microprocessor maker, on Thursday reported that its gross margins more than halved in the fourth quarter as it was forced to write down inventory in weak market conditions.

AMD recorded its ninth consecutive quarterly loss but said it was continuing to focus on breaking even by cutting its costs.
