Court back in session with full docket

The US Supreme Court could be about to rewrite some fundamental rules governing the economy as it begins a new term on Monday with a docket that has an unusually high number of business cases.

Half of the docket so far is business cases – including potential landmark cases involving punitive damages, patent, antitrust and environmental law – and more could be added. “It’s a very important term for business,” says Jonathan Franklin, of the law firm Fulbright & Jaworski.
