Managed accounts lose out to hedge funds

Investors who choose managed accounts over hedge funds because of their greater transparency and liquidity risk suffering higher volatility and lower returns.

A managed account is a segregated account, usually operated through a third-party platform, that attempts to reproduce the returns of a particular hedge fund.
