Iraqi prime minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari yesterday accused opponents seeking to unseat him of pursuing personal feuds in an increasingly acrimonious dispute that threatens to delay the formation of a new government.

His comments came as Iraqi leaders met to consider a Shia request to delay the convening of parliament, scheduled for Sunday, a move that could open a dispute over interpretation of the constitution approved in October.
