Isoft faces formal probe as auditors find irregularities

Isoft faces the prospect of a formal investigation after a preliminary examination of its past accounts found evidence of irregularities.

The struggling healthcare software group, which provides software for the government's £6.2bn National Programme for Information Technology, told the stock exchange yesterday that the initial investigation launched two weeks ago by Deloitte, its new auditor, had concluded that there were grounds for a further probe.
