Business leaders complain of credit shortage

Lack of credit is a bigger problem than the cost of borrowing, business leaders warned on Thursday.

They expressed a unanimous conviction that the Bank of England’s rate cut did not go far enough in addressing the problems faced by industry. Some called for more aggressive cuts, but there was a consensus that interest rate reductions would not be enough on their own to revive the fortunes of British business.
