The BBC's Gaza reporter, Alan Johnston, appeared in a video on a militant Islamic website yesterday - the first real indication he is alive and well since he was kidnapped more than 11 weeks ago, on March 12.

Mr Johnson says on the recording he is being treated well, although it is unclear when it was made. The Foreign Office said it was "urgently investigating".
