Housebuilding rises on market hopes

The number of homes being built in England has risen strongly for the second successive quarter as housebuilders have begun to restart projects in the hope that the residential market is stabilising.

An estimated 29,980 houses were started in England in the three months to June – a jump of 63 per cent on the previous quarter.
