Drugs industry hits at reform moves

The pharmaceutical industry will on Wednesday stress that it contributed £4.2bn in net ex-ports to the economy last year as it steps up its campaign against proposals for price reforms.

In its annual review, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry highlights that the sector invested £3.3bn in research and development in 2006, and generated £13.6bn in exports, balanced by £9.5bn in imports.
