UK overtakes China as FDI destination

The UK attracted more foreign direct investment than China last year, becoming the world's second-largest FDI recipient after the US, a United Nations study showed yesterday.

Investment flows to the UK nearly quadrupled to $78bn (€65bn) in 2004 from $20bn in 2003, much of this coming from the US, according to the UN Conference on Trade and Development (Unctad) in its annual world investment report.
