Telecoms: Countryside brimming with potential

India is infamous for its shoddy, third-rate infrastructure – potholed roads, crumbling airports, and erratic electricity – but there is one area the country can look to with some measure of pride and as an example to emulate.

Once India got serious about upgrading its infrastructure, it did not dilly-dally with telecoms.
