Betting patterns return to normal

Stock market volatility, as measured by the Chicago Board Options Exchange VIX index, has now fallen from an all-time high of 89 in October 2008 to just under 30 – and this rapid decline is forcing spread betters to adjust their strategies.

“The most notable impact is on the average stake size from clients,” says City Index market strategist Joshua Raymond.
