Sheikh’s position strengthens in Lacroix auction

The sheikh of Ajman on Wednesday emerged as the frontrunner to buy Christian Lacroix, the loss-making French fashion house, after Italy’s Borletti Group dropped out of the auction.

Regis Valliot, Lacroix’s administrator, said that a rival offer from Sheikh Al Hassan bin Ali Al-Nuami, a nephew of the ruler of Ajman, was “overall very satisfactory”.
