Data add to evidence of stabilising house prices

Further confirmation that stability has returned to the UK housing market emerged from official data for July released on Tuesday that showed a strong rebound in prices from their levels in June.

The Department for Communities and Local Government reported that its own house price index, which is based on completed transactions, showed a bounce of 1.4 per cent in July from average house prices the month before.
