Boost for street markets

Resurgent street markets are the latest sign of value retailers benefiting from effects of recession on the cash-strapped consumer.

“As things get a bit tighter (people) turn to the markets to find themselves a bargain,” said Joe Harrison, who ran a leather goods stall from 1976 before becoming chief executive of the National Market Traders Federation.
