Postal union's leader hits out at Mandelson

Lord Mandelson came under intense fire from the main postal union last night, after the business secretary attacked strikes due to start tomorrow as "totally self-defeating".

The business secretary issued a stark warning about the potential financial damage to Royal Mail, telling peers the state-owned postal operator's reputation in its parcels delivery business could be "irrevocably damaged".
