Increase in pension tax charges

Pension investors who wish to pass on their fund to heirs will find more of their pension eaten up by tax charges under proposals put forward as part of the pre-Budget report.

Pension investors who have turned 75 since new rules came into effect this April have been taking advantage of new freedoms that mean they do not have to buy an annuity with their pension fund.
