Wal-Mart, the largest US retailer, on Monday announced a further move to cut the costs of generic prescription drugs, as part of an effort to use its market power to reshape the US pharmacy business.
The retailer said it would expand a $4 discount drug programme launched in September 2006 to offer 90-day prescriptions for $10, and would start offering 30-day supplies of over-the-counter generic and branded drugs at its $4 discount price.
