L&G cuts bonuses on some policies

Legal & General has cut pay-outs for some of its policyholders, worsening fears over the health of the UK insurance sector.

L&G said it was cutting the level of bonuses to most of the 750,000 holders of its with-profits policies, which invest in various asset classes and hold back returns during boom years to smooth out turbulent times.
