Iraq prime minister plans big reshuffle

Nouri al-Maliki, Iraq’s prime minister, told parliamentarians on Sunday that he was planning a “comprehensive” reshuffle of ministers in his national unity government, and scolded lawmakers for failing to show their loyalty to a united Iraq.

The declaration is part of an apparent push to revive an initiative to bring the country’s quarrelling sectarian blocs into a national pact, after the government was accused by both Sunni and Shia of failing to protect them.
