Former adviser brands PM 'gutless' over EU constitution

The new European cons-titution would "exacerbate Europe's economic failings and drag Britain down too" because Tony Blair was "too gutless" to argue for a better deal, according to a former adviser.

In a broadside against the constitution and the government's handling of the negotiations, Derek Scott said Mr Blair had lacked the courage to re-examine the purpose and structure of the European Union.
