Stagflation fears hit dollar

The dollar weakened to a new low against the euro on Tuesday as data showed the US economy entering a prolonged period of slowing growth and rising inflation.

The latest data from the world’s largest economy showed rising producer prices, falling consumer confidence and sharply lower house prices, reinforcing concerns over stagflation.
