A corner of the roof is dented as if a meteorite had landed there, a radio station is playing non-stop revolutionary songs and, in a quiet corner, there is a book signing by Franz Kafka.

The Frieze art fair opened its doors to VIP guests on Wednesday – the general public are allowed in from Thursday – and presented its usual mix of the worldly and the downright weird.
