EU leaders step up criticism of Russia

Political leaders across the European Union intensified their criticism of Russia on Wednesday ahead of an emergency summit of EU heads of government next week – insisting the bloc must move to re-evaluate seriously its relations with Moscow.

As France, which holds the EU presidency, prepares to host a specially convened summit next Monday, Britain signalled that the meeting must “re-examine the nature, depth and breadth of relations” with Moscow.
