Rethink of plan to curb FoI requests welcomed

A plan to tighten freedom of information rules is to be reviewed after widespread criticism that it would allow the government to be more secretive.

Ministers yesterday announced a public consultation on whether they neededto take any action to stop information requests that impose a "disproportionate burden on public authority resources".
