Cool welcome for Turkish jobs measures

A package of tax cuts and subsidies to boost Turkish jobs and investment received a cool welcome on Thursday from the business community, which said the measures would work only if the government also formulated a credible long term fiscal policy.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey’s prime minister, announced a swathe of tax breaks for big investments and critical sectors, and a sliding scale of corporate tax cuts to tempt companies to poorer regions.
