Barclays’ president pockets £21m

Barclays paid £21m last year to Bob Diamond, its president, according to its annual report.

The bank, which failed to win the bid battle for ABN Amro and has seen its shares drop from 746p last year to below 445p, paid Mr Diamond a basic salary of £250,000 plus a £6.5m cash bonus and benefits of £14,000.
