The most competitive mortgages came from HSBC during the third quarter of this year, with only Yorkshire Building Society coming close as a rival, according to analysis by Mform mortgage company.

The other lenders to make up the top five in the most consitstently competitive lenders were Nationwide, Newcastle Building Society and the Halifax.
