Sony Ericsson aims to move up rankings

Sony Ericsson, the world’s fourth largest mobile phone manufacturer, has been set a target of becoming a top three handset maker by 2011 by Dick Komiyama, the company’s new president.

Mr Komiyama, who became president in November, told the Financial Times on Wednesday that the company’s growth plans meant a three-year timeframe for becoming a top three mobile manufacturer was appropriate.
