Financing: Easing of credit offers some hope

Governments have poured billions of dollars into banks to help steady credit markets and pull the financial-services industry out of its worst crisis for 70 years.

For airlines and aircraft-leasing companies dependent on fresh capital to fund their operations and help pay for expensive new aircraft, signs that those efforts are working cannot come soon enough.
