Microsoft in phone deal with Flextronics

Microsoft will today announce a partnership agreement with Flextronics, the world's largest contract electronics group, designed to ramp up production and lower the cost of phones using Microsoft's Windows mobile operating platform.

The two companies have jointly developed a phone - called the Peabody - that Flextronics will sell to mobile handset manufacturers as a "white label" product that they can customise and brand to their own specifications.
