Payment protection ruling faces review

The Competition Commission has been ordered to reconsider one of the key restrictions that it imposed on the sale of payment protection insurance after a successful appeal led by Barclays.

The Competition Appeal Tribunal ruled on Friday that the commission would have to review its proposal to stop lenders selling this type of insurance when customers initially applied for loans and credit cards.
