Euro firmer on rate outlook

The euro rose against the dollar for the first time in three days on Monday as expectations grew that the European Central Bank would keep interest rates at a six-year high this week, continuing its efforts to curb inflation.

Traders also weighed up the growing disparity between the US Federal Reserve’s lending rates and rates in other countries.
