John Lewis sales deteriorate

John Lewis suffered another “difficult” week as sales in department stores fell by 9.7 per cent, with most in its 27 store portfolio reporting double-digit declines for the week to November 8.

The department stores, which are part of the John Lewis Partnership which also owns Waitrose supermarkets, have now experienced negative sales for two months.
