UK voters to face simple question in EU ballot

Britain's voters are to be offered a straightforward question in the referendum on the new European constitution, ministers have decided, to head off accusations the government is trying to stack the odds in favour of a Yes vote.

The question, to be published in a bill in the new year, is expected to say: “Should the United Kingdom approve the Treaty establishing a Constitution for the European Union?”
