London may not be such a haven after all.
An annual survey of transatlantic litigation trends finds that UK companies are more likely to be conducting an internal investigation than their US counterparts. The UK is also reporting a significant rise in regulatory inquiries, while the US is seeing a slight downturn, a survey of 303 companies commissioned by Fulbright & Jaworski, a US-based law firm, found. Even worse, the sample suggests UK companies are spending more on their regulatory legal costs – 11 per cent shelled out more than $5m versus 5 per cent in the US.
