Lisbon treaty runs into Czech trouble

The Lisbon treaty’s Czech troubles worsened on Tuesday with the filing of a new constitutional court complaint against the pact reforming the working of the European Union by a group of Czech senators.

The centre-right senators are worried that the treaty will create a European “superstate” that could endanger the Czech Republic’s independence.
