Mood sours as Russia expels Nato envoys

Relations between Nato and Russia were undermined once again on Wednesday when the Kremlin expelled two Canadian diplomats from the western alliance’s Moscow office in retaliation for a similar move by the Brussels-based organisation last week.

In an event that Nato described as “unfortunate” and “counterproductive”, the Russian authorities expelled the director and deputy director of Nato’s information office based in Moscow.
