NIS in £593m takeover from KKR

Northgate Information Solutions provided a shot in the arm to the UK software sector and burnt fingers among traders as it agreed to a £593m ($1,176m) takeover from KKR, the US private equity firm.

KKR’s offer of 95p a share for the human resources software group was a 40 per cent premium to Northgate’s prevailing share price, even though Northgate had admitted it was in bid talks.
