Sir, Clive Crook and Razeen Sally (cited in Mr Crook’s article “Obama has to lead the way on trade”, December 22) are among the most acute exponents of free trade and open markets. But their collective judgments recently on the multilateral trading system and the future of the Doha round are off the mark, in my view.
