Obama hits out against healthcare ‘myths’

President Barack Obama came out fighting on Saturday against what he called the “outrageous myths” circulating about his effort to reform US healthcare.

In an attempt to seize control of the debate over his most cherished policy goal, Mr Obama used his weekly radio address to dispel what he called “wilful misrepresentations and outright distortions, spread by the very folks who would benefit the most by keeping things exactly as they are”.
