Reformists to run in Iranian election

Iran’s former reformist president, Mohammad Khatami, on Monday said that either he or former prime minister Mir-Hossein Mousavi would run for president.

Mr Khatami, 65, has come under intense pressure from his supporters to challenge President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad, who is thought likely to seek re-election. Mr Ahmadi-Nejd has faced severe criticism over economic policy
