The timetable for rescuing near-bankrupt Alitalia has slipped further, with one of the main sticking points in negotiations focused on the price new investors in the Italian flag carrier will pay for a merger with Carlo Toto's rival Air One.
Intesa SanPaolo, the Italian bank advising Alitalia, had intended to present its rescue plan to the airline's board on August 8. But that meeting has been postponed, possibly for three weeks, and even then a detailed plan with names of confirmed investors may not be ready, sources close to the talks said.
