Newspaper websites row brings review

Publishers and advertisers have launched a review of the way in which traffic to newspaper websites is measured, after a dispute about the Telegraph Media Group’s visitor numbers exposed divisions in the industry.

An apparent 38.7 per cent jump in visitors to the Telegraph titles’ sites between February and March was challenged by other publishers on a conference call early this month, say people familiar with the dispute.
